JAMB Subject Combination for Pure & Applied Mathematics 2025/2026
For Pure and Applied Mathematics, the UTME subject combination includes English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and either Biology, Agricultural Science, Chemistry, or Geography.
The O’level requirement for UTME candidates is five (5) credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and either Biology, Agricultural Science, or Geography. Special waivers include PHC, which requires five credits, including English, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology, and BENIN, which accepts Economics as the fifth subject.
For Direct Entry, candidates need two (2) A’Level passes in Mathematics and any other Science subject, or an NCE merit/HND/ND upper credit in Mathematics.
Special considerations include LAUTECH’s acceptance of ND upper credit, HND lower credit, or NCE credit for 200 level entry; COOU, which requires A’Level passes in Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Chemistry, and PHC, which accepts A’Level GCE, HSC, IJMB, or JUPEB passes in Mathematics and one other science subject. BENIN and PAUL also accept specific qualifications for Direct Entry, including ND/HND in Mathematics or related fields.
