JAMB Subject Combination for Nutrition & Dietetics 2025
- Faculty/College of Medical Sciences: English, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.
- Faculty of Agricultural Science: English, Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture, and Mathematics/Physics.
O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR NUTRITION AND DIETETICS
- Faculty/College of Medical Sciences: Five (5) SSC credit passes in English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
- Faculty of Agricultural Science: Five (5) SSC credit passes in English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR NUTRITION AND DIETETICS
The Direct Entry requirements are:
- Faculty/College of Medical Sciences: Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics, plus the UTME requirements.
- Faculty of Agricultural Science: Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics, plus the UTME requirements.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR NUTRITION AND DIETETICS
For Human Nutrition/Nutrition and Dietetics under Medical/Pharmaceutical/Health Sciences, the following special considerations apply:
- University of Ibadan (UI) requires Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for O’level and Direct Entry.
- Bowen University requires five (5) O’level credit passes in English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, and Geography/Economics. For Direct Entry, Bowen requires at least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes, including Chemistry and one other subject (e.g., Biology, Physics, Geography).
- ABUAD requires three (3) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
- Ibadan (Direct Entry) gives preference to professional certificates such as:
- Nigeria Registered Nurse
- Food Science and Applied Nutrition Certificate
- ND in Agriculture
- Public Health Inspectorate Certificate,
For Human Nutrition/Nutrition and Dietetics under Agricultural Science, the special considerations are:
- FUNAAB requires Chemistry, Biology, and Physics/Mathematics. It does not accept Agricultural Science in place of Biology.
- IMSU accepts Biology/Agricultural Science/Home Economics, Physics/Mathematics, Chemistry, and a pass in English.
- UNN requires, in addition to UTME, O’ Level credit passes in Chemistry, Biology/Food and Nutrition/Agricultural Science, and Physics/Mathematics.
- UMUDIKE follows the same requirements as Food Science and Technology.
- BELLS University requires at least a pass in Physics.
For Direct Entry, the requirements are:
- UNN accepts:
- ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
- ND, NCE, or HND in Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Economics, Agricultural Science, or Food Science, plus UTME requirements.
- Nursing Certificate/NCE in relevant subjects.
- UMUDIKE follows the same criteria as Home Economics.
- FUNAAB accepts:
- NCE/ND upper credit in Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Science, or Home Economics, plus UTME.
- Nursing Certificate with UTME requirements.
